Ronan Maguire represented Mr L who was charged with the murder of an ex- girlfriend found strangled in her home. This was a case fought tirelessly on the evidence of experts. An expert in Cell Site evidence placed the client’s phone at the scene of the crime at the time of the murder. The Crown relied on no less than five other experts of various sorts. The defence called two experts but challenged all of the Prosecutions expert evidence. Mr L was acquitted within an hour of the jury commencing their deliberations. The case remains opened and unsolved.
