Mr A K & Mr S K  – In April 2009 details of operation Pathway, a top-secret Anti-Terrorism investigation was exposed to the press outside Downing Street by  Britain’s most senior counter-terrorism Police Officer (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/apr/09/bob-quick-terror-raids-leak ). This resulted in the arrest of twelve men of Pakistani origin in raids across the North West of England. At the time Prime Minister Gordon Brown claimed that a major terrorist plot had been foiled. Ronan Maguire represented 2 of the suspects who were held for nearly 3 weeks. After many hours interviews and appeals for their release, these suspicions were proved to be unfounded and no action was taken in respect either man. They were subsequently released without charge.
